Friday Morning Tiger Scattershooting-Finals Edition

LSU football players have just finished their final exams and are completely focused on winning the BCS title game against Alabama. Here are some random thoughts as we must wait until January 9th for the rematch.

  • Les Miles is 5-1 in bowl games at LSU. His only loss was to Penn St. in the Capital One mud bowl.
  • LSU is 7-0 in season openers since Miles took the helm. The Hatter has shown when you give him time to prepare, watch out.
  • Nick Saban is no slouch when given time to plan either. Remember that defensive plan against the Sooner in 2003.
  • A win by LSU will give Miles 3 straight over the evil mastermind Saban.
  • The Tigers are following the same practice routine they used to defeat Texas A&M in the Cotton Bowl last year.
  • LSU started out as a 5 point favorite but the line has gone to even. I like that people are betting on Bama.
  • Fans seemed to be very upset at Jarrett Lee getting benched for Jordan Jefferson. I can understand feeling that way, but some people need to remember that LSU is 13-0 because of the coaching moves made by Les Miles.
  • Brad Wing is one of the most popular players in LSU history as a red-shirt freshman.
  • I can’t remember a punter anywhere getting as much attention as Wing.
  • Probably the closest thing to the Wing phenomenon was when Sebastian Janikowski was kicking at FSU.
  • Other than the Miami defensive backfields in the 90’s, I can’t think of a defensive backfield close to as good as this current LSU bunch.
  • Just think the Tigers lost the top defensive back taken in the NFL draft last year Patrick Peterson.
  • I feel like Kenny Hilliard will have a huge role in the outcome of the BCS title game.
  • 3 1/2 weeks seem like a long time to wait till Jan. 9th.
  • Stop Tebowing.
  • The Tigers need one more big celebration to take it all.
