LSU Moving Up Recruiting Lists

With the addition of Gunner Kiel (Columbus, Ind./Columbus East), the No. 2 ranked QB in the nation, LSU has jumped up the rankings in many recruiting polls. The former Indiana commit is the fifth ESPNU 150 prospect to commit to coach Les Miles.

Recruiting season has heated up as Alabama and LSU are vying for several of the top undecided prospects. Tiger fans will want to watch the Under Armour game this Thursday Jan. 5, 2012, 7:30 p.m. ET (ESPN). Several future Tigers will be playing in the game including OL Vadal Alexander, WR Avery Johnson, OLB Ronnie Feist,  and the top long snapper in the country Reid Ferguson. Continue reading

Ghosts Of Alabama

Many Tiger fans were not thrilled with the prospect of playing Alabama again in the BCS Championship game. In reality LSU is 9-3 against Alabama since 2000 and has won 5 out of the last 6 games at Tuscaloosa. Continue reading

Miles Overcame Adversity To Win AP Coach Of The Year

53 Years Later, LSU Hopes For Better Ending

If late Ole Miss football coach Johnny Vaught were still alive – the greatest Rebel of all died in February 2006 – he would have gotten a visit this month from current Alabama coach Nick Saban.

Saban’s first question to Vaught: “How did you do it?” Continue reading

All Quiet At LSU

LSU and words like quiet have not gone together in a long time.

Semester grades are coming up, so I will still hold my breath a tiny bit, but all has been calm recently on the LSU front. No fights, suspensions, coaches leaving, or anything negative around the football program.

As I am writing this, I know that if something happens, people may blame me. Continue reading

I’ll Take Les Anyday Over Saban

If I would have told you before the “Game of the Century” that one of the teams would miss 4 field goals, take unnecessary risks, put an injured player back to return a punt and generally was out-coached in the game, 99% of the public would have guessed Nick Saban coaching Les Miles’ pants off. It didn’t happen. Continue reading

Why LSU Shouldn’t Play Bama Again

Let me start off by saying that nothing would make me happier than beating Alabama again to send the Crimson Tide nation home once and for all knowing they are 2nd best. I have never seen a collection of people take a loss with so much indignant behavior as Alabama did after their 9-6 overtime loss to the Tigers. Continue reading

Don’t Blame Bama

As much as I disagree with LSU having to play Alabama (documented here) for a 2nd time this season, I can’t blame Nick Saban or the Tide for wanting a rematch. This ongoing debate just throws more fuel on the fire about how the BCS is a flawed system that will never get it entirely right. Continue reading

LSU vs Bama ” The Sequel”

Play it again, LSU and Alabama.

The Crimson Tide edged out Oklahoma State in the final round of voting and will play the top-ranked Tigers in the BCS national championship game on Jan. 9 in New Orleans. Continue reading

Saban Begging Already?

Obviously Nick Saban has listened to TLC because he’s not too proud to beg. Saban has started politicking early for his Crimson Tide to play LSU in the BCS championship game. See his comments from earlier today. Continue reading
